Gründungsmitglied der Band "Die Zimmermänner", in den 80er-Jahren fester Bestandteil der Hamburger Punk und New Wave-Szene.
Seit 2006 Bereichsleiter für Musik, Tanz und Theater im Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin.
1982 erschien sein Solo-Album mit dem Titel "Volkskunst aus dem Knabengebirge", welches nun kurz nach seinem 60. Geburtstag als Wiederveröffentlichung bei Tapete Records erscheint.
